In my applied marketing class we were talking about product development and how sometimes problems will arise that need to be addressed. I started talking about how the Nintendo Wii had problems because people were breaking their televisions. Then we got into a discussion about how when snowblowers were designed the companies probably really did not think to put “DO NOT USE ON ROOF” because hey, common sense should tell you not to right? Some people lack common sense or just want to make a dollar off of their own stupidity.
I think that things like this could be part of the reason why Americans look silly to a lot of foreign countries. Like the McDonald’s hot coffee thing. Do we really have to write on a cup that coffee is HOT and HOT THINGS CAN BURN YOU? Come on people.
